Statistics for 2016

Here's some useful information and statistics for 2016 about Thaimassageguiden and Thai massage in Sweden.

During 2016, ThaiMassageGuiden had 1,165,984 visits from 599,837 unique visitors.
That corresponds to 97,165 visits per month or about 3,238 people per day.
That's an increase of 8.84% compared to the previous year.

Visitors spent on average 5 minutes and 37 seconds on the website.
96.66% of the visits came from Sweden and 50.5% were returning visitors.

During the year, especially toward the end of the year, the site was hit by quite a few bad search bots and a number of DDoS attacks that intermittently made the site very sluggish. We have been working hard to try to stop these so-called attacks, and the work is ongoing. We expect the site to be running up to speed again soon.

During 2016 we introduced several sets of icons showing whether there's a sauna, bath, doors, massage tables, etc., to make things easier for our visitors. And also whether the salon accepts SWISH, a new payment method for businesses that launched in 2016. We also expanded the various wellness voucher systems that some companies use, and made it possible for salons to have both their Facebook page and their website as a link.

It came to light that Hässelbymassage, which had been ranked number 1, had cheated and is therefore disqualified and removed from the list. 

The average price for one hour of oil massage in the country was 396 SEK and has therefore gone up 4 SEK since 2015.
The average price for one hour of Thai massage in the country was 396 SEK and has therefore gone up 5 SEK since 2015.

In Stockholm, however, an hour of oil massage cost on average only 378.50 SEK, an increase of 50 öre compared to 2015.
and an hour of Thai massage cost on average only 381 SEK, the same price as 2015.

This makes Stockholm still the cheapest in Sweden, well below the national average.

In Gothenburg, an hour of oil massage cost on average as much as 405 SEK, a decrease of 1 SEK compared to 2015.
and an hour of Thai massage cost on average 412 SEK, the same price as 2015.

In Malmö, an hour of oil massage cost on average 404 SEK, a decrease of 2 SEK compared to 2015.
and an hour of Thai massage cost 415 SEK, an increase of 4 SEK compared to 2015.

This makes Malmö the most expensive for Thai massage, and Gothenburg the most expensive for oil massage.
